Galvanized Sheets
As FINDIKSAN BORU, we supply galvanized sheets specifically to provide corrosion protection in humid and wet environments.
Corrosion Process
Due to its structural properties, iron corrodes over time in environments with high oxygen and moisture levels. This process occurs as a slow-progressing oxidation reaction. Therefore, the use of black sheet material is not recommended in humid and wet conditions.
Advantages of Galvanized Sheets
Using zinc-coated galvanized sheets instead of black sheets in humid and wet environments is a more suitable solution both in terms of cost and functionality. The zinc coating prevents direct contact of iron with oxygen and moisture, creating an effective barrier against corrosion.
Comparison
| Property | Black Sheet | Galvanized Sheet |
|---|---|---|
| Corrosion Resistance | Low (rusts in humid environments) | High (zinc coating protection) |
| Humid/Wet Environment | Not recommended | Recommended |
| Cost | Low | Medium (advantageous due to long lifespan) |
| Service Life (in humid environments) | Short | Long |
Application Areas
Galvanized sheets are preferred in many applications with corrosion risk, particularly in the following areas:
- Roof and facade claddings
- Exterior structural elements
- Agriculture and livestock facilities
- Ventilation ducts
- Automotive supply industry
